RMM Records & Video
RMM Records, also known as RMM Records & Video Corp, was an independent Latin music record label based in New York City. The record label was formed in 1987 by promoter Ralph Mercado.
Artists that had recorded for the label include Marc Anthony, La India, Tito Nieves, Jose Alberto 'El Canario', Tony Vega, Johnny Rivera, Ray Sepulveda, Domingo Quiñones, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Eddie Palmieri, Oscar D'Leon, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Miranda, Miles Peña, Orquesta Guayacan, Conjunto Clasico, Manny Manuel and The New York Band. Former Musical Directors include famed pianists, producers and arrangers Sergio George and Isidro Infante. Focusing on Salsa, Latin Jazz and Merengue music, as well as re-inventing the New York Sound, the label was had an impressive roster of artists during the label's peak in the 1990s. With Law suits surrounding Ralph Mercado, he was force to sell to Universal Music Group.
RMM Records was sold and acquired by Universal Music Group in April 2001.
